Default Basket Case to Crawler

A couple months ago, a friend had a tmaxx that he blew the engine on and somewhere after he lost control, it ran into a curb and destroyed one of the a-arms. He took it apart, got caught up in RL, and lost interest in it. I bought it from him as a basket case. One axle seems to be in good condition, the other is stiff like it has a bad bearing. Lots of aluminum parts, but also seems like some parts are missing, like tranny case is there, but no gears. Not a problem though. I have a Ridgecrest chassis that I want to mate the axles up to, therefore, I'm going to use an Axial tranny. I was looking at the pictures, and some of the trucks are using modified axles, but the pics don't zoom in on them so it's hard to see how they are configured, and in the sticky " building a maxx crawler", in all but one, the pics are gone, so I'll have to do the best I can by interpreting the instructions. it'll be a fun build, I have lots of time, and lots of shine.

I found this 1/6 NB Avalanche in someone's trash a month ago. Still trying to decide what I want to do with it, scaler, crawler, or foff...eh, might be too heavy for a foff. The Tmaxx axles seem to fit pretty good, just need to fashion a chassis for it.

Tmaxx axles are a little wide for this body, unless I turn it into a monster truck. AR60's are a better fit. Still not sure what to do with the parts. If I mate the axles to the ridgecrest chassis, with the ridgecrest links, I'm going to have a short wb, wide track crawler. Eh, that's the fun with this hobby, have to see where it takes me. ....to be continued...
