Rock Racer Telluride? has anyone made a rock racer out of one of these? i have a yeti and the local track is going to start doing ultra 4 racing. i have a friend wanting to get into it on the cheap side and i told him maybe a telluride would be a good choice. i guess i want to see if any of you guys have done this? thanks! |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? One of the magazines sorta did, RC Driver I think. Might be better off with a brushed 4x4 Pede unless there are width restrictions, then throe the extra deep offset 2.2 crawler rims and the 2.2 crawler tire of your choice. If you want to lock things up, the Revo spools can be used with the MIP CVD's if you use their output yokes for the Revo with the Stampede 4x4 kits. RRP also makes an HD 56t slipper kit that would be worth while too if there is going to be excess horsepower |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? thanks, my friend ordered the telluride today. it will be his U4/basher truck. we are trying to get u4 racing here more popular.i think the telluride will let people that may not be sure about U4 racing a chance to try it out with out spending a whole lot. |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? no one else has done anything to their telluride to rock race? |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? Not really, we've kinda gone more in a scale and/or expedition vehicle direction with them, then it seems like there are a number over on the Traxxas forum that have gone more in the direction of the idiotically over-powered Middle Eastern Land Cruiser/Nissan Patrol route with Castle BL systems and lots of voltage. |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? Our local offroad track has just started doing some U4 racing and I think the Telluride is a great platform for people to get to try this type of racing. I have a 4x4 pede and im thinking of taking it and turning it into a "Tellu-Pede". I also have a high dollar Yeti but theres something about the Telluride that pulls me in.. Ill keep ya posted. |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? here are some pics of my pede with 2.2/3.0 proline tsl tires and wheels. Just to see what it looked liked I set my yeti cage on the chassis. Just getting some ideas.. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...ps7ps0ltdk.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...psm9qk6th9.jpg |

That cage fits a little better on the pede chassis with some mods. Steve |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? just ordered up a VG cage and a Jconcepts inner chassis cover. ive got some ideas. now i need a driver and dashboard! |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? So I'm thinking a Slash sized chassis would be better. It fits the Yeti cage way better from what I've seen, although the longer WB may be a downside. The cage just looks too high on the Stampede chassis for me. |

Re: Rock Racer Telluride? Is this to run U4RC races? What class you aiming at? |

Re: Rock Racer Telluride? you might consider ditching the bumper/wheely bar mount, I found it got in the way on my truck's first run. |
Re: Rock Racer Telluride? Looking good so far. I'd suggest finding a way to slam that cage down lower. I think it would help the aesthetics even more, and benefit the handling by lowering the CG. It looks like it would be fairly easy to do by changing out the body posts. Maybe you were already planning to do this? Anyway, great job! Steve |

Re: Rock Racer Telluride? Only thing I can think of atm is that the rear turnbuckles on my Pede sometimes pop off after a hard hit. I know you can just pop them back on, but for a race, I'd put a washer on the screw so they can't go all the way off. |

Re: Rock Racer Telluride? Have you seen the YetiX by CBERCFAB, it's a kit that bolts the front of a 4x4 slash to the yeti chassis, this seems like it would be right down your alley!"thumbsup" |
