Default Telluride Brushed motors HELP

I have a VERY stock Telluride and need to replace my Titan 21 T motor
I have 1 million diff fluid in the diff ( Associated )
Works great for trailing but sometimes overheats when crawling
There are a few RC4WD 540 brushed motors available locally .
I would like to keep some of my speed so which one is good for trails and crawling ? I was thinking a 27 T or a 35 T
Any suggestions and help would greatly be appreciated

thanks in advance

The Titan 550s are great motors imo, 540 is shorter armature, less torque in general and will overheat easier.

What pinion and spur gears are you running? If it's mostly stock, might go one tooth smaller on the pinion. I ordered Traxxas TRA1522 passive heatsink for the TRX4 (same motor), give one of those a try too. I'm running on 3S, what battery are you running?

You'll probably kill the RC4WD motors faster than you killed the Titan 21T.

As Natedog stated, you should probably change your gearing. The Telluride is not really a crawler and therefore it's not geared as such from the factory.

I agree, try to get your hands on the brushed Stampede 4x4 diffs, it's almost like going from 3.05 to 4.11 gears on a 4.0l I-6/5 speed Jeep!

I'm going to try on the new Castle 2280 Sensored motor in my Telluride. Should be coming in later this week.

I remember when Castle said there is no need for sensored systems

I guess Pat saw how much money could be made by making a sensored system and boy has it taken off since they did make them. Now customers can have the best of both worlds in Sensorless or Sensored. The main reason they didn't do sensored as it mainly was for racing originally and that's never been the Castle customer base as its and still mainly the bashers and people out just to have some fun. Now with the sensored setups they also have gotten into some racing and still kept there market in that made them. Racing has always only been 10% of the hobby and the other 90% is just people enjoying the hobby and will never race. Castle has smartly always leaned toward the 90% of the business which is the smart way to go. IT has paid off huge for them and now doing sensored and some racing is just one more they showed they can do.
