Ridding the Trx4 of locking diffs. Is there any aftermarket locker options for the trx4 that would allow me to rid of the locking diffs? I personally have no desire to unlock the diffs and don't want the expense or possible failure of the cables system on my latest build. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

I have seen someone who had shimmed their dog engagement on the side to keep it locked, but right now I would imagine the strongest locker you could get would be made by JB Weld as it would lock all the internals. If you just pin it into the locked configuration then all your torque is being transferred through the smaller and likely fragile spider gears in the diff. |

Re: Ridding the Trx4 of locking diffs. Yeah jb weld never worked at least back in 2005 the days before buy it crawlers. Just crumbled over time due to torque. I'll probably just lock the linkage with a small threaded rod or make a collar to lock the clutch out. Just seeing if there was a direct fit option. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

The problem with how they lock standard or via shimming the lock ring is all the torque on the axle is going to be focused through spider gears from the side with the slider to the opposite side. Stock it only locks one output from the diff to the diff cup, it relies in the spider gears to lock the other output to the first output, there has been at least one spider gear failure on facebook. If you were going to lock the ring to the cup I would still recommend some sort of adhesive inside to hopefully help those spider gears to be a bit more robust |

You could always use a bit of cellophane / saran wrap on the ring gear side so even after the JB weld dries you can unbolt and replace the ring gear if needed, would turn the main part of the diff into somewhat of a spool and still retain the ability to replace just the ring gear if it gets damaged? |

Re: Ridding the Trx4 of locking diffs. Why are you eliminating the locking diffs? I thought that was one of the big selling points of the TRX4? Portals, diffs, and 2-speed was the major selling points when I was shopping crawlers. |
