Default Another TRX4 Servo Thread...

My apologies, but I don't want to break my new truck...

Could someone please tell me an exact servo and horn that would bolt right up with no fuss? I'm not looking for anything crazy like 1,000 oz of torque...just something significantly better than stock. I'm only going to run 2s, so do I still need a BEC thing?

I am running a PowerHD 23kg WP but also have the 20kg that I actually prefer and it came with a servo horn that I am running on my TRX-4 without any issues.

I just got a new trx4. Ran it 2 times. 3rd time out the servo died. My buddy is running a cheap 20kg. I ordered the 23kg power hd. I'll do some testing and get back to ya.

After a total of maybe 6-8 hrs of trail and rock, my $18 DS3218 20kg is so far proving adequate and reliable.

Thanks! I just tried a Savox1230SG and it didn't bolt up directly, AND after 20 minutes of trying to solder the BEC lead to the ESC wires I gave up. I have re-installed the stock servo and ordered a power HD 20kg....I just want a simple set up with a bit more torque. I think this will work good...I really have no desire to run a BEC and extra wires and all that crazy crap. Thank you!

I fried my stock esc when I went to a 1210sg . It went right in and it used the same screws and holes .

The 1210 SG seems to have enough torque to get the job done well enough. Not a monster, but pretty reasonable.

Get a BEC I would highly recommend it.

I installed a Savox 1210SG on mine and and plugged straight in so it is running at 6v which reduces the torque but it's good enough for my purposes and still much better than stock. I bought the metal Traxxas servo horn and as soon as I shred the second plastic horn I'll mount it up. I did have to use an Exacto to shave some plastic off the mounting points on one side of the Savox servo.
