The Sport is looking awesome! I really like what you've done to the body. I like how you cut the front "molded-in" bumper off the body and raised the bumper up.

When the Sport first came out, I thought the body looked terrible. But, the more I see them, the more I like them! I've been thinking about picking up a clear body to put on my TRX-4 Kit.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the mods!

Was at my LHS a few days ago. They had what seemed like a bunch of nice pieces/add-ons for both the TRX and new Axial bodies. There is clearly some focus towards making these rigs look ready for overloading.

For sure! This is the splash page at Traxxas for the TRX-4 Sport. Loving what they did with the paint and accessories.

I also just removed the sliders and trimmed the rockers at the bottom of the body. Total silent running now with zero body rub. I just did not like how low and far out the RTR sliders were. I may fab some up out of metal for it though and position them where I would want them. That said, the things I was getting through and over yesterday without them has me thinking maybe not too. Those huge outboard runners that the electronics sit on pretty well act as sliders anyway - especially if you trim the body even with the bottom of them.

I got some awesome video and was going to post it to youtube, but trying to email them to my account off the phone through yahoo and they're shutting me down on file size. I may sneak them through my work email today! Shhhhhhh!

I'll post links if they go through.

Got some more Tx time with the Sporto today. Sun was out, but it was still a bit cold and everything is still really wet. Hit some of my new stuff that I've been working on for my backyard course. It was really, really wet back there, but that's what waterproof electronics are for right!?

This little truck is still impressing the hell out of me. Really liking the 45/12 spur and pinion combo and the slipper eliminator is also a must in my book. I run them on all my rigs. Let the spur be a failure point - they're cheap. Played around with some pre-load settings on the shocks and they're feeling pretty good now too. I may drop to a lighter oil as I'd like the rebound just a tic quicker. Pro Modeler Eco Power servo at 6v/337ozs is working awesome and just a huge difference over the RTR unit. I did increase punch settings on the 1080 to level 5 from level 2 and I think I'm completely happy with it's set up now.

Funny, but my usual antics see me modifying the hell out of rigs practically before they turn a wheel. But, I think I'm just going to upgrade things as they break on this little rig. Of course I say that now............................

So how does this thing crawl? Is it worth getting?

MaX-D - I can say without hesitation it is the best Crawler straight out of the box that I've ever owned. Thing just works from day 1. At about $330 for the RTR, it's an exceptional value compared to the competition too imho.

I couldn’t agree with you more, I got back into crawling after a four year break about four months ago and my first rig bought was a used Trx4 Bronco off of eBay, it was stock and I could not believe how well this thing crawls bone stock.

I agree - it's pretty crazy how well it works. I've done a bare minimum to mine at this point and it just feels completely capable already. My list of changes thus far:

Free Hacks - Bumper mounts flipped, body trimmed, Receiver on rear bumper removed (freak'n thing hung up like an anchor back there!)

Wheels/Tires (stock RTR's are good for RTR tho)

Gearing - 45/12 spur/pinion

Slipper Eliminator

ProModeler Eco Power Servo - 337oz

BowHouse Low CG battery tray

Dialed in Pre-Load / Ride height front and rear

HobbyWing 1080 ESC

Are you guys using a 2s or 3s battery? Stock 21T motor?

I’m running 4000mah 3s, Hobbywing 1080 esc, DS3218 servo, stock 21t motor, hacked Flysky gt3c radio. Have a Holmes 21t 550 Trailmaster to install.

I run 3s on all my rigs. Silly not to really. Yep, still running the stock motor. Works well enough, good torque, cheap to replace. (Although I may upgrade to an HH TorqueMaster Expert when this one goes).

Little snow crawl action with the Sporto! Traction is at a minimum, but man was it fun!
