| The SSD Portal Deletion
I have tried to do many thorough searches through google and this site but have not seen anyone with this setup on their rig and how it worked. I am building a secondary rig to see if I can lose the weight on the TRX4. The first one I built trails beautifully but comps like crap. If I get no answers this will change because I have the parts on order to install this with underdrive front and rear and this will change to a review of some sort. Thanks!

I too have not been able to find a single person on here that has done this. I did some research into it and was planning on dropping to a 9 tooth pinion and under drive gears front and rear to get as much as I could of the gearing back. I think there are some people on the TRX-4 Facebook group that have done it.

Scale Builders Guild I believe on here as "ThatGuy" or something similar (I'm new so might be wrong) has done it just recently and liked it. He and Harley are doing a TRX-4 sport build off series. Here's the portal delete episode (Week 11) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwHX...g8bxk&index=11 In some follow on, he found a small, 9T if I recall, pinion and fit a 48T spur to get the final ratios at the wheels back to something acceptable after the loss of the reduction in the portals. I have. I like it... different anyway. Definitely lowers COG, and looks way better imo. However say hello to torque twist and goodbye to that amazing pumpkin clearance... Everything is a tradeoff. Starting at post #83: OSRC's TRX-4 Defender "Greybeard" |

Matt at SBG just finished a 16 week TRX4 Sport build and he used the SSD portal delete front and rear. Here is a running video of it with the delete kit installed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOj8Y-wQ84A&t=406s |

I just installed the portal delete kits on my Bronco last week. It looks much better than the portals, but will have to drive differently due to less pumpkin clearance. The torque twist is a pretty significant issue I'm still trying to work out. https://imgur.com/a/iF8yqEL |
