mercedes g500
 

Has anyone purchased the mercedes g500 model of the trx-4? I like the looks of
It but the shocks and tires seem more stiff than say a defender or bronco, almost like bounces around vs flexes shocks. How does it perform compared to the bronco? Has anyone found any accessories for it yet? Would love some input before I pull the trigger and buy one! Thanks in advance!

Are you getting that impression from videos that you've seen?

About the suspension being stiffer, I mean...

I'll bet the reason it is behaving that way is because it has less tire sidewall and thinner foams to absorb some of the impacts.

Changing the wheels and tires to a more standard style instead of the low-profile included set would help a great deal.

TRX-4 MB G500
Wheels: 2.6 x 1.02 inches (66 x 26 mm)
Tires: 4.64 x 1.89 inches (118 x 48 mm)

TRX-4 All other models
Wheels: 1.9 x 1.02 inches (49 x 26mm)
Tires: 4.64 x 1.89 inches (118 x 48mm)

See how the wheel takes up .7 of an inch more of the space inside the tire?

That's nearly 3/4th of an inch more tire sidewall and correspondingly, more tire foam to absorb impacts...

The shocks will have to work harder on the G500 than on the other TRX-4 models.

Yea tires on that would have to go bye bye right away lol. Need to simulate real world airing down.
