| Traxxas bec voltage
hello i searched the forums and cant seam to find what i am looking for as far as bec voltage i have a trx4 and have a savox servo thats a 7.4 hv i know its not getting full power so i got a castle BEC. wondering what voltage the outher servos can get with out messing them up i know the savox is rated for 7.4 but can the rest of the traxxas stuff take that kind of power with out killing it? and the truck as far as the electronics go is stock out of the box. stock locker servos and stock shifting servo the castle is the 2.0 BEC. the voltage on it is adjustable i planed on running a 3s battery so the incoming voltage should be somewhere in the relm of 11.1 thank you for your input... |

The micro servos are rated for 6v, as well as the receiver. I’d suggest a hey ok no brainer bec as it can power only the steering servo while you can leave the rest of your electronics from the stock esc bec. You may get similar results from homes bypass adapter, I haven’t used one of those yet myself. https://www.amainhobbies.com/heyok-p...nbradj/p521836 (need a volt meter to set the voltage) https://holmeshobbies.com/electronic...s-adapter.html |

I'd recommend using the castle that you have and just getting (or making) a bypass harness. The Traxxas receiver and servos don't like extra volts. With the castle feeding your steering servo, you can set it for the servo's max voltage and leave the receivers bec to power the other electrics at the factory voltage. That's how I'm running mine and it works great. And that'll keep your added cost under $10. Just my 2 cents. |

To drive the steering servo at 7.4v with an external BEC and keep the rest of the system at 6v this harness makes it as easy as it gets. https://holmeshobbies.com/electronic...s-adapter.html Last edited by Inspector86; 03-11-2019 at 05:36 PM. |

I could add this External bec to a castle mamba x and leave the mamba x at 6 volts to run shifting and locker servos then adjust the external bec to 7.4 or 8 volts to run a savox high power steering servo?

Yes that would work using this bypass harness. https://holmeshobbies.com/electronic...s-adapter.html Last edited by Inspector86; 01-27-2020 at 05:21 PM. |
