Trx-4 with Mamba X configuring

I just put in a Mamba X in my Trx4 Defender and liking it a lot. I'm trying to connect the white aux cable so that when I use it in low gear it'll have drag break and it'll be my "Crawler Mode", and use high gear as my "trail mode" with little drag brake. I already tried to connect the white white and shift servo through a "y" lead to the receiver but I think I fried the channel. I may have done something wrong. Has anyone does this? And how?

It's been a while, but I believe i just used a Y connector. Is the channel not working even with just the shift servo plugged in?

What do you have the Mamba X BEC set at. Are you using the stock Traxxas receiver? The Mamba X BEC is capable of 8v and the Traxxas RX is only rated to 6v...though I've run then at 7.4v in the past without issue.

The aux wire is not intended to be plugged into your servo with a Y, yes you likely let the magic smoke out. The Aux wire should be plugged into one of the receivers aux channels then the radio needs to be programmed for it and thats it.
page 4 shows the wiring diagram

I'm not going to go into much detail but to toggle between different drag brake values this is activated by hitting the button that controls the aux channel that you plugged the aux wire into (but the TRX4 radio does not have any aux buttons). This function cannot be tied to your 2 speed (without some creative electrical wizardry).

HeyOk may have or possibly be able to make a solution for the radio not having a aux button.

You would think that you could just use the low range switch to trigger the white AUX wire? Somebody on here must have the answer. Anyone try emailing Castle?
