Personally I'd keep the stock shafts because theres nothing wrong with them and I dont trust either of those brands to make high quality parts at all. Theres a reason some companies are first to market, no testing and they dont give a damn.

I dont like driveshafts that use the spring/wire wrap to retain the drive pin, they have a way of popping loose with this design. Both of those use this poor design.

If anyone is interested in looking at these heres some links

I would wait for a reputable company to make a set like Incision, MIP, or SSD. Or you can simply measure the lengths and order the correct sizes.

My guess is you can just get the standard TRX4 drive shaft kit for the front 2 axles and then you just need a short one right?

Check out these options, lengths are listed in the description, the important numbers are the min and max lengths.
SSD

incision (Vanquish Product's budget brand)

MIP

Shafts can also be cut down to fit with some designs, just look it over before you cut.

GPM and Yeah Racing are both good companies and offer a lot of quality parts. However, the spring design of their driveshafts is simply not ideal. Like Humbolt said the spring retainer catches on things as the driveshaft rotates and becomes dislodged which allows the cross pin to fall out and that is pretty much the end of your day. MIP makes arguably the best steel driveshaft currently on the market. MIP also sells a rebuild kit for their driveshafts when the time comes.

I went with MIP for EVERY reason (except cost lol). Tougher, slimmer (so no rubbing on the tranny), looks better, and Made in USA.

i think both of those companys actualy sell the same products with different brand printed on the packadge

for the spring retaining the pin goes some one on this forum sugested soldering the springs in so they cant come off since doing this mod i havent lost a pin ive found it also works on the cheap universal shafts too to retain the pin

Just put heat shrink over the spring... problem solved:mrgreen:

Or buy a properly designed driveshaft, problem solved better :flipoff:

Well ,one thing needs like 20 minutes effort, the other a 80$ investment...your choice

i tryed that heatshrink trick as soon as it hits the rock and its gone

super glue works when there are multiple wraps of the spring and if its just a spring ring or one wrap solder works good both just need some heat to undo if needed

The subject here was not how to fix a shitty driveshaft someone already has it was a question of the quality of said driveshafts

so...Junfac driveshafts are considered"shitty" ? OK...somebody has to tell that to mine...they hold up pretty well for the last 3 years:flipoff:

Re: Gpm Racing vs Yeah racing driveshafts Trx6

Nah thats regarding GPM and Yeah racing. Junfac has improved their design over their last version (the one with the ring/coil holding the pin in place), now it has an actual spline and the pin is captured or press fit (doesnt fall out).

Re: Gpm Racing vs Yeah racing driveshafts Trx6

In my experience both GPM and YR can be hot or miss. I've used a few GPM chassis parts without issue and have been running a front driveshaft on my TRX4 (3s, HW axe 3500) long that half the color has been worn away. I think they're satisfactory budget parts.

That being said, neither brand provide a tight tolerance, quality feel that something from SSD or Vanquish would.
