Body Mounting Help

I bought this body (hope links are ok)

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Mounting it on a trx4, what else?

I built the kit over a series of a few years (don't ask) and finally got it together and ready for the body, always liked the detail of the hard bodies, the weight made them feel right in the videos I have seen.

At first I think inner fenders need to go, but nope shock attachment points are there. I really don't want to go hacking on the inner fenders, but if it is the only way out the dremmel will come.

I tried searching and being old my google-fu is weak old man.

Any help before I blindly start hacking on stuff would be a big help.

thanks.

Traxxas sells shock towers to eliminate the fenders, part number 8216. Or you can get upgraded metal ones for a little more.
I would cut the fenders to fit (depending on how much) before I buy the shock towers. Its nice to keep a lot of debris away from the chassis.

Re: Body Mounting Help

Have you considered keeping the fenders and sticking some velcro on the top side of the fenders?

I literally just put that same body (dark green) together this this week.
I have the TRX6 so I can't place that body on to line it up at all, I'm installing mine on an SCX10ii. However I am running an inner fender kit on that and I'm either going to do some velcro tape on the body and fenders, or I'm going to hack the crap out of my fenders.
Another option that might work for you would be to glue some strong magnets to the rear post mount and then just stick a piece of metal onto the hardbody.

I put the Jeep Comanche hardbody onto a truck with fenders using velcro tape and it holds remarkably well. You can pick up the entire truck by the mody and the chassis doesn't fall off.

Re: Body Mounting Help

Hi. At the moment I'm working on my D110 body for the TRX-4. It's the hard plastic one from Team Raffee but pretty much identical to yours. Mounting it to the chassis gave me a headache because it never really meant to go on a TRX-4, having 334mm wheelbase you see.

I didn't wanted anything to show on the outside, so ended up to work with magnets. The good thing about hard bodies is that the have a lot of areas to mount a magnet underneath. What worked for me was to mount the chassis magnets on the rear mount itself and the front ones one the hole that keeps the little plastic you remove if you want ot install lights on the inner fenders.

Here's some pictures to get the idea
