Default Lets see your NON Standad 6x6 builds>

Got a project rolling around in my melon I'm thinking of bringing to life.
Will need to run off a 6x6 platform.

So lets see what you've done to a 6x6 1/10th scale rig that is not just the out of the box TRX or whichever brand platform.

Starting here as I presume most of them will be on the TRX platform.

But looking to see what you put together.

I’m currently working on an attempt to build a 6x6 Honcho using the Spare Time Hobbies chassis and 6x6 extension kit. I hope to start on the body tomorrow and then work on printing the rest of the rear “bed” section. I’m using ar44s for the axles, and a Vanquish 3 gear and dig.

Both a work in progress...meant to have them done for the crawling season, but got sucked into NPDR all winter.

Old SCX10 spare parts...

TRX6 based...

And a Tamiya. For fun... Doesn't do half bad!

Nice Nice. Good looking rigs. I have an SSD Trail King here I started out as a leafer for the RC4WD Blazer Body.
But NP has got some voodoo going on, cuz that's what I spent most my winter doing... Building 3 NP rigs. lmao

I'be been contemplating on shelving the RC4WD Blaser idea, and finish the one SSD as a 6x6 Leafer/.....

interested on what is the most common workup for the rear axle drive. Does the Traxxas just run 2 rear drives out of the transfer? Never looked at one too closely.

Traxxas setup is just like Axial - the diff cover on the middle axle gets swapped with an output.

Ok, so they are actually axle to axle drives. That is good to know. Thanx.
I now wonder if I can do that with the SSD Trailking Axle...? Hmmm.

Thinking of going to an aluminum C Channel to make a strengthened frame.

What are others using/doing to up the strength of the chassis rails?

I built up the deck on mine with some L bracket to match the body lines. There's Zero flex out back.... probably would have done something similar even if I hadn't gone with the Bullhead body.

Thats a sweet setup.
How did you setup your slider rails to allow the bed to slide?

Very Trick. Great way to make it all low profile and clean operation!
