Default What size tires are scale with the TRX4?

Im looking to purchase scale tires for the TRX4, and the stock 1.9, 4.6" tires seem oversized for scale. Does anyone know the approximate size for a real life OEM wheel/tire set up? Thanks!

2.9"

It looks like it may have had a 29" tall tire stock (the year I checked at least)

dont do it lol

Not all 1/10 scales are true 1/10 scale so keep that in mind.

The issue with small tires on the TRX4 is the huge fenders, a properly sized (scaled) wheel might look a bit wonky.

I would suggest finding a balance between too big and too small like 4 1/4"-3.75"

this is a nice resource for searching for a specific tire size https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1883783709

EDIT: heres the smallest tire I have, 3.5" tall

Also worth noting, there's no way a TRX-4 is "tenth scale." Because if it were, it would be almost 10 feet to the outside edges of the fender flares, stand over 9 feet tall, and be 23 feet long.
It would also weigh almost 7,500lbs (the real thing weighs 3,995lbs.)

The 1986 Defender 110 was 70 inches wide, 18 feet long, and as stated by the name, had a 110 inch wheelbase. The TRX-4 Defender is something around 1/8th scale...ish. The width is a
little over, the length is a little under, but none of it's measurements come close to 1/10th.

So don't sweat the tires. A 4.6" tall Canyon Trail would scale up to be about 37" at "full" scale, not outside the realm of possibility. I just fitted one of the Defenders here with 4.3" Axial Ripsaws--
which would be something like 34", about the same as a 315/70R17 or 315/75R16. They look about perfect to me. With the portals and the high stance, the Defender can really benefit from
a tire right in that Class 1 (or a smidge bigger) area.

I can vouch for the 4.3” proline TSL’s looking good on there.

I’m sure the standard sized Pitbull rock beasts would look proper as well.

That's a good point, it does seem more like 1/8th scale... that picture with the 4.3 is close enough to the 4.6 I can't really tell there difference. Maybe a 4" would look good! I'm thinking, I wonder if they sell fenders that are like half as wide so they don't look so dorky with the smaller scale tires?

There are hard bodies that are closer to 1/10 scale. Check this for example:

TRX-4 Camel Trophy D110 Project

Not sure if it's an accurate 1/10, haven't bothered with measurements. Definitely narrower and shorter than the Traxxas lexan. The tires are 3.85 inches on 1.9 wheels.

TRC sells these fender flares seperately. However, they are hard plastic and might be a bit small to fit those arches.
