Default Maxx crawler prospect?

I have a lot of T-Maxx and E-Maxx build experience under my belt. All my maxx trucks are now gone, save for a pair of good diffs. So, I thought I'd like to try a different twist here. I'm thinking of a mostly stock buildup, with T-Maxx roller, with a severely lightened aluminum chassis plate, but running a Stampede transmission (because I have one). It would also have 12mm hex drives, so I can run some of my on hand 2.2" wheels.

I'm sure this has been done in some form or another. Any pointers?

Cheap and easy, that's the only reason.

Sounds like your doin like I did for a basher. Email me cuz I don't want to post pics of a non-crawler on here. I have a stampede tranny on a t-maxx chassis with a custom aluminum chassis plate. Don't kno how u were planning on mounting the tranny but the stock t-maxx upper deck has a huge hole where I think you would want to mount the stampede tranny--no where to screw it in.

Oh...and not all 2.2 wheels will fit over the stock 2.5 t-maxx carriers. The ones I have from stock rustlers and some aftermarket ones wouldn't fit. I ended up making custom tires/wheels for mine. Cut and shut stock maxx tires with narrowed rims. This was on a basher I remind you.
