| What Springs?
I am building a non-linked Maxx crawler and was wondering what Springs I need to be able to mono-shock each arm and still support the weight, but be able to flex? I am down to one motor, and 2 packs (one is 5-cell sub-c for servos) I cant figure out this spring rate stuff so links on tower or similar site would help.

I also have a non-linked Maxx. I'm still running 2 motors. This is what I use: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHWJ7&P=ML I put the heavy springs on the outside shock (front of front, rear of rear). I took the spring off the inners, but left the shock because I was too lazy to look for my stubby screwdriver or take the whole assembly off the chassis to get to the upper shock screws. Works just fine. Last edited by JamboreeTJ; 05-25-2007 at 09:32 AM. |

I have those on 4 of my shocks now, and I am still having to use the stock springs on the other 4 to keep the suspension from sagging and killing my diff clearance. I dunno, I will try something here shortly.

Hmmmm. I'm still running 2 motors and 2 batts and the maxx sits just below max extension on the shocks. I don't think I lose 1/4". Of course, I just installed them not long ago so maybe they will sag a little over time.

mine are brand new as well. I dunno, maybe they are different springs, they just look the same.
