Re: Does anyone have any photos of a Locked Emaxx Diff i dont have a pic of it and can't think right now about the article your talking about off hand..but if your not using spools then take the diff apart. you will see the spider gear carrier with 4 screws holding the ring gear on.. take those 4 screws out..now pop the spiders out and the other axle..so you should have an empty carrier and 2 side axles and spiders in your hand now..wash everything off real good so the JB weld will stick..as you put it all back together( spiders and 1 side axle in) cram in some JB weld now..rotate the spiders and stuff around to get it really packed in there..leave some at the top also, that way the other stub axle will be welded also( if not, you will only have 1 wheel drive :D ) clean off the excess after shoving the stub axle down making sure you dont have any weld in the 4 holes for the screws..put the ring gear back on and screw it together and let it sit...piece of cake |

Re: Does anyone have any photos of a Locked Emaxx Diff hmmm I think I managed to get it right cuz I stuffed a bunch of JB weld till it came out of every crack and my rear end is rock solid.... and im going tomorow to pick up a 76t R&R spur gear to run with my 9t R&R pinions..... :cry: :cry: another $30.00 down the hole...but the dum asses at my LHS say I should have tons of torque with that setup... |

i did a "how too" write up a while back. i have it saved to file. if you would like i can email it to you. i have a "how too" on locking the tranny up as well. i did have them up on my web site but it's going through a rebuild session right now if you want PM me with an email and i'll send it to you |
I use the Expoy method. It is pretty much the same as the JB weld method, but Epoxy is faster. I use 5 min epoxy. you just squirt some epoxy in, don't worry about the two parts being mixed prior, because you will spin the spiders to mix it. You will put the ring gear back on after squirting epoxy in, dont screw it together yet. spin the output yokes, take the ring gear off, and squirt some more epoxy in, put the ring gear on, spin the output yokes again, make sure there is no epoxy in the screw holes, put the screws in, and you are ready to go the same day, instead of wating overnight. |
if you want simple go with teh spool, takes 15 min to install and you'll never need to worry about them. |
The spools are only $12 each and are well worth the money. You have to be careful when you get bound up but If you use common sense your axels will last. |
