Default 18v dewalt summit

I'm looking for some advice on what batteries to run since I been using the 5000 nimh set but I don't feel much difference from the titan 775. I did the 18v setup because if was a free motor. I'm using nimh because I do alot of creek trailing any help would be really appreciated! Thanks

Most people use the 14.4, the 18v doesnt seem faster because its probably slightly higher turn then the 14.4. You could probably go to a higher tooth pinion and try using lipos.

I'm running the 18v with a 17t pinion and I can't really see any difference so I'll give it a shot with some lipos. Currently looking for a 14 volt motor since I bought the kershaw mount plate for the dewalt but the motor I had bolted right into with no modifications at all. BTW thanks for the reply I'm new and just trying to learn some more.

I'm running the stock esc. Today I did a speed run and my top speed was 17mph with my stock nimh batteries, I have a 17t pinion and stock everything else. I'm not sure if I'm getting more torque than my stock 775, I'm thinking about switching back to my 775 with the 14t pinion until I can get a 14v motor.

one of the best improvements you could make is saving up for some lipos and a charger first

I agree. Lipos are a must these days. I'm looking for a motor myself. The Titan is finished. Smoked one too many times.
