Default Project "Mini Skinny" is underway.

I figured I might as well start my own buildup thread to give you guys something to look at.

I wanted to build a crawler that resembled my 1:1 crawler "Skinny", so here is what i have done.

Started with a stock Emaxx I got off ebay with no body.

Then started to gather the first of many parts for the buildup.

I started with the axles. Basically a TC Hybrid axle. I liked the way he made them and no point in changing a good thing. They will be a little different when I am done but the basic design is the same.

Then i got a stcok Clod body to cut and make into a 73 Blazer.

Here is the first mock up of the stance the truck will have when complete. It will now actually be about an inch lower.

And here is where I am at now. I started the chassis and cage. I only have it tack welded right now. Once it's all done and every piece is in place then i will solder every joint. There is going to be a lot more tubing going into it also. I want to make it look good with the body on and with the body off.

I'll keep updated this post as I make progress with it.

Looks like it's gonna be a cool project!

Throw up a pic of your 1:1 for reference.

I guess I should say it's of my 1:1 of the future. I am between trucks right now. I just got rid of my 86 and will be started the build on the 73 soon. Here is my 86 before it got cut up.

POS

As I said before, I like the smooth radius on the front of the halo and the dash bar, matches the body real nice and perty like. I need to get started on mine...

Yeah i might build a scaler for one of my kids one day. I have 3 kids so I have plenty of options on trucks to choose from. Maybe one of each.

I am using 3/16 brakeline for all except the tranny mount which is 3/16 square rod.

I have a Lincoln 175 that i have set to about 3/4 it's power just to tack it. I haven't decide if I am going to finish it all by welding or finish it with silver solder.
