emaxx crawlers can be the best rigs because of the awsome axle gc, i would first start modding by:
1)lock the diffs(jb weld, spool, magic doo doo) - $10 max for JB weld, like $25 for spools, and really expensive for the magical doo doo
2)then run a four shock setup - free if you have a brain
3)Boil the wheels to seperate the wheel from the tires then take the foams out and then put the tires back on then glue them back up - price of some CA glue
4)better servo - depends
the list goes on and on but start small and work your way up

DONT BUY JB QUICK YOU WONT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO GET THE DIFFS BACK TOGETHER AND THEN YOU WILL WISH YOU HAD LISTENED TO UNCLE WILLIAM

Go look at the maxx gallery and get some ideas. Go click on any thread in here on a build up and see what you need. Don't limit yourself to what people tell you to do with your truck and money.

i would start with spools and a better servo for your $$. if you want to save some money, use epoxy in the diffs instead of buying spools.

once you do that, you are only limited by your time and money.

epoxy works great, i used it after i spent 12$ on one spool for the rear of my car. so i have a spool in the back and epoxy locked in the front.

a 645mg servo works good, and get a better servo saver too.
