Shock lesson time. The oil in the shocks does not support the weight of the truck. That is the springs job. The oil dampens the up and down travel of the shock using the weight of oil and the size and number of holes in the shock piston. The heavier weight of the oil, the slower the up and down travel. The springs are what supports the weight of the truck. This is a basic lesson, there is alot of other factors that can play into the shock oil/spring combo depending upon what you want out of your truck. Any questions?
