Default yet another tube chassis crawler

New to the board and building my 1st rc crawler...don't be too harsh

Here are a few pics of my tube chassis I started, using some parts from a old t-maxx, that has been collecting dust for a couple of years...

I am basically going to dimensionally mock a 1/6 scale version of my 1:1 crawler. Wheelbase, suspension geometry etc. Hopefully it works out. I haven't figured out exactly what electronics I'll use, but I have a secret plan for my tranny....I'll see if it works first before I tell though

yeah looks good so far.

i thought about using one of my stock chassis for a base. haven't done it yet. i was gonna take about a 1" of both sides to narrow it up some first though.

keep us posted on your progress.

Looking good man, soon a I get the basic chassis whittled out of the 3" X 3" aluminum tube I got, I guess I'll start a build thread too....

Real curious to see how you do your suspension. Are you gonna do 2 wheel or 4 wheel steering? I'm still undecided...

I would strongly suggest 4WS, even playing with my mantis chassis crawler there is such a huge difference between 2 and 4, I won't ever build one that is just 2. The truck is just too big and heavy not to use 4.

I will for sure do 4 wheel steering. I don't like limo style turning on the rocks. I will be following my suspension dimensions on a 1/6 scale version from my real Jeep.

It is a dual triangulated setup. I am really happy with antisquat, rear steer, roll center #'s, etc with my Jeep. so I am going to try and duplicate those numbers in the RC and see how it turns out.
