| I now have the rcrockgear maxx tuber back (I sold it then traded for it back I never really got it running to good yet, I think I have gearing issues. Before when I first got it it would barly move on a flat surface, so I swapped the duracrap esc out for a super chicken and it helped a bit. Even then as soon as I tried to climb something it would just bog down and it seemed like the motor just stopped trying. The gearing was a 78 tooth spur with a 16 toothe pinion on a pede tranny with 55t lathe, so then I changed it to an 87 spur with a 12 pinion that helped quite a bit, but it still doesn't climb to well. I guess my only other option would be to add a GD 600???? And I'm running 6 cell 3800 mAh pack. Any suggestions woud be great This is the truck.... ![]() ![]() |

| If you move the motor off the spur and push it back and forth, does it move smoothly? Are you meshing the pinion and spur too tight? Does the motor sound like it is grinding when it tries to push the vehicle? |

| Perhaps the motor is in need of cleaning/brush replacement... maybe? Are the servos drawing too much current and sucking the life out of the ESC's BEC? Might be enough current draw that the motor just doewsn't see enough juice. Hackster still runs a very similar setup in the Twin Force RCRG truck. Same gearing, 'Pede tranny, same motor but even larger(heavier) tires and it has more go than my Maxx. |

I guess I just have some more tweaking and testing to do. Or I'll just get pissed off and sell it

| Well I just picked up a GD600 and a fresh 55T lathe motor, so I'll see how that works out. I drilled a 16T pinion to fit the GD output shaft and I got a 12T to put on the motor. I'm still open to suggestions |

| If you need just the main gear for the GD600 that is turned down, let me know. Just play with alot of gearing to get what ya want, cause i have always found the 55t motor is slow with the reduction |

| Hmm....you've got a setup really close to what I'll be running shortly. Is it a very common problem for it to not have enough juice like that? Seemed to me that that was a pretty good setup to use.....guess I'll find out soon when I get this thing finished. |

I wouldn't use a lathe motor with a GD600. You probably won't get good enough wheel speed. LOTS of torque but NO wheel spin so ... what I run is a Team Orion 25t Method motor. (it was 13 bucks at Tower, now it's 21 ???) I think TC runs a 27t in one of his trucks with the GD600. With this setup I get very good torque and my crawler runs about as fast as my normal walk speed. I think it's a nearly perfect compromise for crawling. However I use a 9t pinion, you are using a 12t. This will result in a little less torque and a bit more speed. Like TC said, just fool around with pinions, spurs etc. and you'll get it!
