I know I saw where someone had built a tranny using t-maxx parts but for the life of me I cannot find the thread (and yes I used the search). The one Im thinking of used plexi for the sides...does anyone know the thread or have any pics they could share????

I don't have a link. But I can tell you that building a tranny is best left to those who have the proper machining skills and tools. It takes proper alignment of the gears, boring holes the perfect size for bearings and in the perfect spot for proper alignment. But if you have the skills and tools go for it.

It's not that hard to make them. Search general crawlers for RD400.

Yeah I have all the details about it. I made it. It is a first generation first gear only tranny. I clocked the gears for a lower COG while still being a verticle mounting setup. Along with a custom motor plate I am able to keep the weight down low. I am sorry about the pics. This is all I have. I am not taking it apart any time soon to take more. Sorry. I have another in the drawing board stages that will be a little different. You need to sell the Tmaxx tranny and pick up an Emaxx tranny. It will be much easier to work with for you.

My crawler is actually already built with a t-maxx tranny, My wife said that crawling is the one rc thing she could get into doing instead of just watching so Im trying to come up with something different for her, hence the homebuilt tranny, only reason I reference t-maxx parts is because thats what i am used to working with.
