Is it possible to use a tmaxx tranny and run e-maxx motors?? I know that the t maxx is set up so that the motor can idle and spin the tranny with out it moving, and that the emaxx tranny is setup to be directly linked between the motor and wheels, but what gears inside do what? i just took my tranny apart to look at it and im not sure what to do to make it work, or if i could make workn effiecently. I think i would work pretty well if i could get it to be locked to spur gear, because i would have an auto shifting e maxx If anyone has some knowledge on this could you please help it would also save me some $$ thanx

That’s interesting, didn’t know you could make an automatic electric. Have you tried it and does it work. You said you still need parts but I meen just try to spin it by hand very fast. Also does it have reverse? I know I would be interested in a write-up with pictures.

I put it together last night with everything how it needs to be, but i still don't have a motor or esc for it, but this weekend i might try and put my buddies motor and esc just to see how well it works. i did spin it with a dewalt and everything works perfect in forward and reverse, but i didn't have enough speed to make it shift, and i'll probably have to adjust the clutch since it was on a t-maxx with alot higher gearing. I'll get some pics once i take it back off

erm brakes?? auto shifting is great but remember nitro's use proper brakes, electrics use the motors for braking force, so you must be in gear to brake. it would be better if you had a servo on the same channel as the ESC(via a Y lead) to activate the brakes, just in case. remeber if u are in second gear and stomp the brakes with just the ESC it will try to shift down, losing all braking force at speed. now as you have a T-maxx tranny which has brakes, suggest you use them. there was a company that made some auto 2 speeds for some electric sedans a few years back, they were great going forwards until you needed to stop, which was evry hit and miss(no pun itended). ;)
