| Well I finished my high steer conversion on my Maxx. It allows me to run the steering behing the front axle and clear the diff and suspension links. I used 3/4" by 1/4" aluminum. I cut it 1"long and bolted it vertically to the outer edge of the knuckle. It clears my 1.25" wide wheels with no problems. All that is left is figure out the servo mount. Here are some before and after pics. Before ![]() ![]() After ![]() ![]() I will have to run my servo on top of the aluminum plate and redo the shock mounts, but thats ok with me. I'm wanting a little more belly clearance anyway. This will also correct my ackerman problem and seems to allow for tighter steering. |

| Axles are working great. The only problem I had with them was the diff ring with the 2 pegs would work loose and allow the diff to rotate in the axle. I temporarily fixed it with zip ties (you can see one in the last pic). My version 2 update is in the "Prototype PVC Axles" thread. It has the diff completely covered within the pvc adapter. That was another reason I started on the high steer conversion. |
