Cool.. same as me.. Yea i thought about building a cage out of AL. It would be a lot lighter, I just suck at welding that stuff. I need some more practice. Keep up the good work over there.

i dont think it would be to light people run gecko clods and there is almost no weight there at all. the main problem is welding the stuff but if you have the proper equipment its not that hard. i weld so much because i just cant stop fabricating so it seems easy to me. what welders are you guys sporting?

Do they make some sort of small "hobby" welder that can handle small projects like this? I mean, you wouldnt need a big 220 Miller for this. Something that wouldnt break the bank would be cool to have.

you can get a small flux core welder but you will have some splater. that is why alot of people use MIG. you can pick up a low end welder for about $150.00 on ebay. i just droped $800 on mine.

Harbor freight has some real cheap one that should work for what we all do. Mine was $600, and its overkill for the cages, but I also did my toyota mods with it. Its nice to have the power, cuz if one of those welds break I might not be able to post anymore.
