I'm really not convinced so far that the 2.2 ripsaws are better than the 1.9 ripsaws I also have. I believe that they are both r35 compound. Has anyone else noticed the 1.9ripsaws seeming softer than the 2.2s? I wonder if the foams are too stiff, or if there is too much foam stuffed in the tire.

Does anyone know if the hpi soft foams are large enough to work here, or of they would be an improvement at all over the stock axial foams?

Perhaps I just need to get more weight on them to deform them more.

Can anyone recommend me a 1/10 scale, 2000kv or so, sealed and sensored motor?

I have a gforce 2250 kV sensored motor which is great, but being 1/8 scale with summer temps approaching, I'm afraid it'll push the mmp too hard. So I'd like to find a 1/10 scale motor that is similar in specs.

I've been eyeing a sensorless airplane outrunner for mine eventually.

Why a sensorless outrunner? Do they run smoother than a sensored inrunner? I have plenty of sensorless in runners, just don't want the cogging.

Sensorless won't be as smooth as a sensored motor no matter what style it is.

I'm aware of that. I guess a better question to ask is, why an outrunner over a standard inrunner?

I would also be interested in that. My shop I work out just has the standard brushless motors but the other place I check out has both styles as they sell tons of planes and have both styles in stock. I might as my buddy and see what he says. If I find out anything I will let you know.

I *think* they just come in lower kvs. Without coating an arm and a leg.

Yup, low kV, high torque, I've been thinking of one that is the equivalent of a .15 airplane engine since it is similar in size to a 540 motor with the same bolt spacing, can use a 5mm pinion, is reasonably priced when compared to a high end brushed crawler motor and even moreso vs a sensored BL motor.

Most low kV inrunners are very large, and very expensive, so that makes a lot of sense. Keep us updated!

What size would we need?

I was looking at this one in particular.

Power 15 Brushless Outrunner Motor, 950Kv | HorizonHobby

I had thought about sticking one on my SCX10, but since the Telluride's tub chassis would help keep debris out of the thing, it would be a better application.

I'm not worried about water so much as I am grasses, weeds, and especially fishing line (fawking fishermen that can't clean up after themselves) getting wrapped around the motor.

I drive through very muddy and pebbley water with mine. If it was fresh mountain spring water maybe not so much. Hqhq

I put a set of wheel extenders on my telly to fit a set of sweet aluminum 2.2 beadlocks I bought used. They add 17mm,and are the smallest ones I could find. Most common was +25mm. Lol. I don't need 17 whole mm. Anyone know of options that don't widen me so much, that fit over a 5mm axle, use the proper sized axle pin, or a set screw, and are for a 12mm hex?
