Guys, Please be gentle with me, but here's a stupid question from a newbie. Would it be better to make wider diffs or narrower diffs??? I made a set of narrower diffs by about 2" and now I'm thinking I went the wrong way?...J.J.

Sorry guy, I meant the total width of the front and rear diffs, and by diffs I mean the total rear end with shafts hubs and tires....Does that make more sense? I think my total width from hub shaft to hub shaft is around 6 3/4", then I'm hoping to adapt some 1/8 th scale buggy tires and wheels so all together it won't be much more then 7 3/4" from outside tire to outside tire. I'll have it home this weekend and hope to have some pictures up so it will all make more sense...Sorry for the confusion...J.J.

Steven, Thanks for the comments, I've used the name since the early 90s when I started making wideners for Clods. Then I got into making r/c pullers, and racing trucks. This is one of my first ventures into crawling and I'm a newbie when it comes to crawling and shaft driven trucks so that's why I started with the Maxx diffs since there's SO much stuff out there for them...J.J.

JJ those axles look great. I would say there a little on the short side. If you run a rim with a small amount of backspacing you could easily get 11 or more inches total width. There is a lot of trade-offs in crawling. What are the guys in your area running? I wouldn't change what you have done

What kind of tranny is that? Is it homemade? Looks cool. Maybe some specs on it?

Guys, See that's the problem, I don't know anyone that's into crawling, I've just seen it on T.V. and they pros looked like they ran a tight and narrow chassis so I thought I'd try and copy what the pros used. I can make it as wide as I want, but I thought if it went the other way it might get through areas with tight turns better. And the tranny? I can't give that information

Chev, I'm afraid my latest update is that I'm thinking of selling the whole lot of what's left of my R/C stuff. But since I can't post it on this site because I don't put enough posts up I guess it'll go over to rcmt since I've been a member since it started...J.J.
