Default maxx crawler build up

well i started this truck about 3 weeks ago so far here is my progress i will post pics as i go
started with a old aluminum street sign and a paper cut out

got the front axel almost done just need to make my steering links servo mount and figure out were to mount the lower links

well thats were i am at as of now i would like to finish but with working 12 hours a day 6 days a week i really don't have much time but i hope to finish by sunday lmk what you think so far and if any one knows were to mount the lower links that would be good thanks

well i finished it today as i wanted all i need is to get some better servos and differnt tires what do you think

Looks good. You should bend your tie rods up in the center so they don't hang below the axle centers....something like this __/*******\__

i tryed to do that but i cant get it i must have tryed 3 times but can not get it right maybe i can buy some allready bent that i can just bolt on

Most here suggest the Hitec HS-645mg. I have two on my Clod, but it isn't running yet so I can't say for sure how well they swing the tires. They come highly recommended, though, so I can't see how they would be wrong.

forget 645s, Chicken butt servos are cheaper with more oz of torque and they are supposed to be stronger than the weak 645s

Start with a longer piece of rod than what you need, and take the wheels off.
Make bends at hightest point and work your way down so it looks equal on both sides. Hold rods in place and turn hubs from lock to lock to make sure its not binding.

You could get away with just two bends something like this /********\

Obviously the ends wouldn't be so steep of an angle, but you get the idea...just start going "uphill" right out of the rod end.

Like this one...they are bent just enough to get it up out of the way:

I like the chassis. Made out of a parking sign. Was it a no parking one? Nice build too

it was a handicapped sign it was left in my basement when i bought my house so i figured its aluminum why not i still gotta paint it im thinking flat black
