Default 2.2 Maxx Crawler

I'm in the process of building a 2.2 crawler and I have all the parts to build it but no diffs yet, what I do have though are lots of T-Maxx diffs. Would it be lots of trouble to fit 2.2 wheels on the larger Maxx diffs? Also would the driveshaft have to be something special going from the Maxx diffs to the Pede tranny? Any other info on using Maxx diffs for 2.2 would be sweet, thanks.

you will have to modify the maxx knuckles to fit inside 2.2's, unless you use some thing else. as for the maxx shafts you wont have to do any serious moding. also to fit the thread on the maxx shafts through the 2.2's you will have to drill the wheel out but not alot. i dont know of any maxx 2.2's. so your kinda on your own alittle. good luck and post pics during build.

Twisted Creations built a 2.2 maxx. I have some HPI wheels for another project and they have alot of offset and the hole for the stub axle is larger. I haven't tested it on some maxx axles, but when I do I will let you know.

on my 1/7.3 hummer , i made my own wheels.. i used hpi 2.2 wheels , and cut out the center part (hub and spokes) did the same on the maxxwheels but made them to fit inside the 2.2" ring and glued them inn.. wee , and you have 2.2" wheels with 14mm hub..

and the hummer wiegth 7.7kg , and they hold up to that weigth just fine

Yes I built one... I posted pics up in the maxx rides of it.. Sybir owns it now.. not even sure if he has done anything with it..

How are you planning on attaching a wheel to a diff? What is your definition of a maxx diff since you keep talking about attaching 2.2's to them?

Tmaxx diffs are the same as the emaxx diffs... same steering knuckles also...

pede tranny has a 5mm output.. The older maxx shafts had a 5mm output also.. most have 6mm.. I can not tell you how I did it, because I ran the maxx tranny.
