Looks like a great start. I only have 2 suggestions. I'm not a comp crawler or anything so I don't know it all, but I would move your bottom links to the inside of the chassis so they don't hang up on a rock and it will give your links more double triangulation. And second I would mount your shocks on the axles as close to the tires as possible. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing. What tranny do you plan on using?

What does mounting the shocks on the axle do? More stability?

Thanks for the input. I moved the links to the inside of the frame and they look good. Next I am going to work on locking the axles, getting the trans, and ESC.

MXRACER525 I am not sure yet. I have been reading all the threads I can to see what I should use. Tekin rebel 2 seems good for the esc. Motor sounds like a 55T Lathe, don"t know much about motors yet. And the trans. I may use a RC4WD R2. Let me know if you have any thoughts or questions.

Are you going to keep your wheels that color? For the lathe motors it's the higher the number the less speed and more torque. The lower you go it's the less torque and more speed. They go from 35t, 45t, 55t, 65t, and 75t. Hope that this helps. Krystopher

I don't know about the wheels yet. Thanks for the input on motors. I need the trans and speed control next and I think I will be ready for a test run.

i would go with two 55's, you still have a moderate wheel speed with those

I put in two 55t's in my first Maxx and told my cousin that it was slower. This is what he asked,"You made that slower?"

I have been looking at the RC4WD R2 trans. It is geared very low and is very tough. Then I could use a single 55t motor.

I have an R2 tranny on the way for my X-Factor build. they look extremely strong and they are low geared. I will be running a 75T lathe in my X and possibly a GD-600. I will see when the trans finally gets here.......

If it gets here soon let me know what you think of the trans. Any great ideas on an ESC? Tekin rebel 2 ? What do you look for when purchasing one?
