well i can't help in the pics department since my new computer doesn't have what i need on it yet

anyway, you will take the trans apart( no need to undo the screw next to the shifting rod sticking out) there should be like 5 screws..after you take it apart, you will see at the bottom, there is a slider gear along with the shifting fork and 1st and 2nd gear will all be on that same piece. take the shifting fork off the slider..you will see like 2 notches on each side of the slider gear that goes into the 1st and 2nd gears..that big gap is what creates the slop...you will either glue it,drill holes and screw or somehow connect that center slider gear to the 1st gear( its the bigger gear of the 2)..after that, you can take off the 2nd gear and put in a piece of rod that makes up the space for that 2nd gear or just slap it all back together without that shifting rod.. I usually just slap it back together, alot easier

the 1st trans i did, i just used superglue and it has held up over a year and the 2nd one i just did, i drill 2 holes and used screws in them..

So a question I'll ask about the Emaxx tranny slop is this:

Is it really a big deal if you still plan on running 2 speeds?

I'm slowley grinding through an emaxx tranny project, and really dig the idea of being able to switch gears. I don't have much shafty experience, however, and am curious to know what effect this lop actually has on the trucks performance.

Any feedback is appreciated.

well if your inside the tranny now, you see the notches in the gears where they slide togther. that creates the slop.you will have alot of play in the drivetrain. say your climbing a rock, get to the top and let off the throttle, you would want to stay there right? well the truck will roll back down that rock because there was no tension on the gears due to the slop. you can make the notches/slides smaller to create less slop, but that will require you to slow down more with the shift on the fly.
