Specs: One battery EVX 55t Lathe motor 9t pinion, 72t spur Emaxx tranny Locked in first gear Cut & shut Kongs Rockraider chassis Homemade links Maxx shocks Stock Revo shafts, 17 " wheelbase Soon to be Escalde EXT body Pics are here: http://community.webshots.com/user/88k5jimmy The only problems I am having are my steering doesn't steer and my rin times suck. I usually only get 15-20 minutes. I have EPIC Dreadnaught batteries (which I've heard crappy things about) and a Dynamite Twin Peak charger (which I've also heard crappy things about). Hmm, new battery or charger or both? Last edited by crawlmaxx; 06-12-2005 at 01:42 PM.

nice looking. yeah something is up with your runtimes cause i wired up my buddys' maxx w/ a 27 turn johnson motor, modded EVX, one 3000 battery and he gets right about 45 mins runtime. i did run an Evx( now a super rooster) 1 3000 pack with a lathe motor and get about 50-60 mins runtime

Thanks I finally got around to grooving another tire, so the fronts are fully grooved. I got the Escalade body on...it screams trail pimp, haha. I also turned my stock maxx wheels around and "machined" (dremeled) a hex in the face of the wheel and painted them gold just for the heck of it. Although I have "machined" one hex too large and the hex turns inside the wheel, so I will either get new wheels or one more stock maxx wheel and "machine" another hex. I like the idea of having gold wheels....it goes with the Escalade bling. I guess some pics are in order sometime.

Nope, haven't broke anything yet (although there is a clicking coming from the rear dif??) I have narrowed the Kongs to 3" and they fit nicely on a stock Maxx wheel, no bulging, etc. I do run cvd's all around and the rear has some kind of traction device in it, probably a spool, I don't know, it was in there when I bought the Emaxx used. I don't know if adding a spool to the front will change that or not, I guess I'll find out......

You've got a nice looking rig there. I know one thing for sure,a better charger and battery will help you. I used to have the same charger and ran Orion 3000 batteries. At that time I was getting about 10 to 15 minutes of runtime out of a bone stock Emaxx, which ain't terrible but it ain't nothing to write home about. I switched my charger alone and gained about 8 to 10 minutes. Now,after gearing down, both our Twin Force crawlers run 45 to 50 minutes minimum. I run a MM and my son runs a 55T lathe,he can usually run an extra 10 to 12 minutes. Some of it though,he likes to run his till the thing won't even turn the tires over if it's upsidedown where I'll normally turn it off after it starts losing a good deal of power. I'd recommend an Integy 16x4 and a 2500 or higher battery,I prefer3300's. I know the 16x4 is an older charger and theres newer and better units out with more features but I've had awesome luck with it and it's ALWAYS given good charges. For me a good charger should have ac and dc inputs and should be able to charge(duh),discharge, cycle the packs and adjust the rate of charge. If you can cycle them you can erase memory and refresh older batteries. I like to cycle mine after about 10 to 12 runs.

Once again, nice truck. I fondled it at Action Hobbies one day when you had it up there. It's very impressive. I'm tempted to start me a crawler.

u NEED to run spools in the front......unless u have them locked wihth jb weld or something. ull risk damaging the truck if u dont have the front locked and the rear locked.
