yeah sounds like your batts are done for. even if they ARE charging they may not be holding the charge, or discharging at some insane voltage. id think they could hurt the ESC, so i would just get new batts.

My Maxx just did the same thing. Was running fine but the motors got so hot the little fan blades inside one of them started to turn black and melt. Now it does what you are saying. My steering wouldnt hardly turn though either. Swapped the receiver with my savage one to rule out that. Steering servo worked fine but the light on the speed control went out when you turned the steering. Still no change in throttle. I KNOW my batts are fine. So pretty much tells me the EVX went bad some how. Popped the case open but didnt see anything major. Of course one tiny component being bad and the thing dont work. Has anyone heard of problems with these EVX's? Dont know if I want to send it back since its out of warranty or buy something to replace it.

Here is everything you need to know about EVX's

They are awesome, if you aren't an idiot, they are even more awesome. I was an idiot and friend mine.

The twitchiness is caused my internal resistance. Fix this by:
Hardwiring your motors (No more connectors, so much voltage, not enough connector)
Replace the battery plugs, the stock ones suck. Get Deans.
Rip off the power plug and solder the two wires together, that is a BIG cause of problems, it arcs and stuff all the time.
Make sure you have good radio batteries, its sensitive.
Run a reciever battery, I did that and it helped with the twichiness.
Lastly: THEY DONT LIKE WATER, YOU KNOW THIS, STOP RUNNING IT IN WATER Mine is ok being mildly shielded, no problems yet. My next chassis is going to have a deep chamber for it with a large copper heatsink and fan.

Now everything you need to know about the Titans.
THEY SUCK BALLS. They are VERY poorly made. They also have no oomph. The fans inside them melt, then the brushes break off, and they aren't user servicable. Get 540's, get two good 540 motors (Ones that can handle 14V or ones that can't if you dont care... Like me)

And running 540's doesn't void your warranty, I talked to the guys at Traxxas (AWESOME bunch, I love em) and all he said was "We won't reccomend it." me: So it doesn't void the warranty? "Well... We don't reccomend it" me: So If it fries I can still send it in "So anyway, you run the EVX on a clod?"

That'll help with the twichiness, and its way easier on the whole system. But if its gone, its gone. As for the out of warranty, don't worry as long as its the new style, just say you got it recently but can't find the reciept ;) They're a good bunch of guys at Traxxas

Plug a battery into the motors directly. probably threw a brush like most of my Titans (if it is the motor)
