Default bashed my Maxx today......

i had a cool Hummer body from the Tamiya Hummer kit, it's hard plastic and looks sweet.

i put it on my Maxx and did some hill climbing. a few rollovers later and the hood is almost completely cracked away from teh rest of the body!

i know exactly what to change on the maxx now, i've decided to make a hill-climber out of it.

P.S. a little WD-40 on the front knuckle ball joints and linkages makes the steering a million times better.

i'm gonna keep it independent. i just locked the rear diff, and i think i'm gonna lock the front diff too. i have an extra if it doesn't work well.

i'm gonna throw 2 Mag Mayhems with the Titans' torque sleeves in it for longer run-times and lots of torque. gearing will stay stock for now with the slipper torqued all the way down.

if bigfoot can get me some carbon fiber i'm gonna make a TVP style chassis out of that with WB somewhere around 16 in. otherwise it'll be the same deal in aluminum.

tires will stay stock, they seemed to grab the soft hillside very well, especially reversed tread.

body will be a proline hummer body, not sure if it'll be the maxx size or the bigger 1/8th scale.

other than that, who knows. i'm thinking about building another maxx with lathe motors and independent suspention that will be crawler-only.

personal opinion on locking the diffs is to lock the frnt if your gonna hill climb and leave the rear alone.it wont steer for crap onroad but will climb like crazy. my Tmaxx did but i broke to many stock sliders so put i back to stock stlye diffs.

it broke so many cause you cant just lock one diff or it will raise havock with your driveline... either lock both or not at all
