Default batt EVX - gearing - water questions

ok, so i think ive committed to buying my first emaxx. and im freaking excited, but i have a few more questions about them first. id first like to say that for the time being i have no real interest in rock crawling per se, but i do want to make the truck into a pretty badass all around off roader. rocks, mud, sand dunes, hell even water.

so first, if i were to remove one motor and battery, what would be a good motor as a replacement for the remaining motor?

second, what size and which gears will i need to lower the gearing? maybe 5mph give or take in low gear... too fast for pure crawling, but i dont need a truck that will go 30mph. i just want a capable off roader!

third, is there a way to completely waterproof the electronics? i dont want to shrug and have to replace my ESC every time i hit a deep puddle or stream crossing!

thanks
