Hopefully now that the cats out of the bag Traxxas will pony up a spec sheet. I'll admit it looks interesting. A lot of elements show they've been paying attention to the scaler market and put a lot of thought into it.

I'm not sure if anyone has talked about all those servos , But I can tell that at least two of them are for locking and unlocking the diffs.

I'm all in if they make a kit.....love traxxas brand but time will tell if all those servos and the linkages and not to mention the gears for the locking diffs and the high clearance gear will hold up....
I'll wait and see how the reviews are and for any flaws they may have...

First a wraith, now you're talking about a Traxxas scaler. Next thing we know you'll be scouring the classifieds for dol.... Action figures.

I'd like to see the steering angles on those portals. If they can actually turn *cough*gmade*cough*. I could see them being very popular

It's Traxxas. I'm sure it will hold up well like all of their other 1/10th scale RCs. Plus, it's taken this long to bring to market so I'm sure they have spent or will spend a lot of time with R&D. And I'm sure the aftermarket will be full of replacements for the weak spots.

It looks massive. Definitely not what I'd consider 10th or even 9th scale. This concerns me a tiny bit. Aside from that, I'd be curious to see one close up. A kit version would be great.

We will see what production brings, if is really scale, or a "scaler toy"

Kit ??? Traxxas don't do kits, just upgrades

Hang up and Drive

My guess, going by Traxxas standards, they will label it 1/10 but it will more than likely come in at around a 1/8th or larger. Traxxas tends to do that, not sure why, I mean they call the darn summit a 1/10th which it really isn't, it's more of a 1/8th. Either way the linkage, if it is plastic, like it looks to be, will probably be an almost immediate upgrade that will be needed of course that depends on whether or not they can hold their shape or tend to bend and bow like the Axial Wraith's do.

Either way, I started this hobby with a Traxxas vehicle so it should be interesting to see how this does. Plus as numerous people have said, they have a giant after market and most of their parts are carried in every single LHS, let alone some Auto Parts stores. Will most likely bring a Lot of new people into the scaler part of the hobby which isn't a bad thing either. Opens up more venues etc. Traxxas sponsored Scale Events and what not too would probably be likely.

Personally, I'm totally into a large scale scaler....if only an Axial Bomber XL would hit the market!!!

Totally agree. I hope it is huge with 6+ inch tall tires RTR. I've been waiting for the same thing many have, a Wraith XL, Bomber XL, instead we got a Yeti XL What a huge disappointment that turned out to be for many. Traxxas may have built us an SCX10 XL with remote locking diffs, 2 speed, portals. I'm in and I hope it's at least 1/8th scale.

yeah im in... I had a tmaxx (original) and stretched it to put a .21 in it (3.5hp) and all aluminum upgrades. was a nasty lil bugger... so yeah
I dont care about the servos to lock/unlock the lockers. could repurpose for other things tbh... but hey.. gotta see the price tag of it first.

A 1/8 (or larger) scale land rover would disappoint me.

The potential for a big ass Unimog (or similar heavy duty vehicle) with portals and locking diffs is very much not disappointing.

Why? We already have a ton of 1/10th scale scalers.

I am intrigued. I love the look of the chassis and the features it has but do have one concern and that will be price. Traxxas has a habit of pricing a bit on the high side imho. If they price it close to the 10II I will def be down for one.

I read on FB yesterday from a page that is a Traxxas dealer.
He said it will be under $500

if I had to guess the price won't be close to the scx10ii. if it comes out with the additional features as discussed in this thread (locking diffs, 2-speed tranny, etc.) those are uppers relative to the scx10ii.
