I use trinity d4 cans in my scalers. I was running my 13.5 on 3s in my losi axled scaler.. but recently I thought hey.. lets shove a trinity 8 scale motor in it and dump the timing way down. the ferd looks really low compared to the stock box trx4 Eddie. get some sidehill vids on the ferd once you get time. |

| ![]() My 16 year old son, Gavin Ayala created this video for Crawler Innovations. Gavin filmed it, edited it, and created the metal bumpers on both the 10.2 and TRX4 rc vehicles in this video. In some ways, this video has been 16 years in the making. For those not familiar with my son Gavin, he has been driving hobby grade rc cars since 2 years old. At 8 years old he competed at the 2010 United States Radio Controlled Crawler Association National Championship in Disney, Oklahoma where he finished 52 out of 100 drivers in the 2.2 Pro RC Rock Crawler Class. That was after he had earned his invite to compete in the championship through the LCQ or Last Chance Qualifier earlier that week. Bringing the timeline up to 2017, Gavin taught himself to TIG weld. His Axial SCX10.2 Cherokee kit that he assembled in October of 2016 became his canvas. My Traxxas TRX4 was in need of strengthening as well. Gavin is coming up on one year of TIG welding now and both of these vehicles have changed considerably since the filming of this video in 2017. Gavin's skill in TIG welding, as well as design continue to improve and he has started his own RC Chassis company named "Ayala Metal Works." Crawler Innovations has several new builds under construction with Ayala Metal Works. As those builds are completed, I will film a build break down video to add to the CI series. Great video, the young guys this day and age right! My ‘lil nephew was banned from PS4 by Sony for creating a game stage where you had to run though obstacles to save Justin beiber. The stage is unpassable, and ultimately he dies everytime, no matter what you do. It marvels me cause I was happy for hours with those orange rubber balls, and a hockey stick.

| ![]() Pictures of me building the front bumper. The first bumper I made out of 1/8 rod with a flat bar notched into the frame and TIG welded. This bumper didn't last long. ![]() The second bumper I made out of 3/16 DOM tube with some 3/16 rod. I reused the flat bar just cut off and ground the old 1/8 rod bumper off. ![]() I curved the next tube to the body line. ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() I am behind on updates for this TRX4. Over one year later and it's still together and running. I've never kept a RC vehicle this close to stock design before. Some upgrade parts arrived yesterday and some new CI stickers have been added to the body. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That wheel and tire combo sure suits the big Ford truck body - tho' I would have left the stickers off the roll-down side windows, personally... ![]() |

Thank you on the wheels and tires. Unfortunately the tires have been a disappointment in terms of performance compared to the Pitbulls we regularly use. I will be removing the tires soon, especially since I've busted some of the stock gears and have the machined versions to replace them with. As for the stickers, after 25 years in the hobby, this is a toy truck. Scale has become the new term for modeling and that's not my interest. I drive and build rc toy trucks to push their performance to the limit to learn what is possible. And besides, if I don't represent my own company and brands, who else will? | |

| ![]() After breaking several of the original thickness trays just before the steering servo, and talking with a couple customers who had as well, a change in the thickness has been made. *Updated* New Version Now Shipping *5/9/2019* New thickness of 3/16th / 0.1875" / 4.762 mm !!! ![]() These still install using the original Traxxas servo hardware. At least the hardware that came with our TRX4's both worked with these. |

| ![]() This truck is still together and being enjoyed. In this video it is the last truck to go and it is using 1.55" Pitbull Rock Beasts stretched onto Vanquish Product 1.9's for a "skating truck" look. |

| ![]() Are you interested in having your RC building and rc driving skills tested? Crawler Innovations and Ayala Metal Works are all about building and driving hobby grade RCs to the limit. "Activated Outlaw" competition crawlers was created for this reason with the focus of creating a sanctioning body that is fair, fun, and repeatable. CI and AMW have been hosting a Get Together on the first Saturday of every month at a local park since 2019. Gavin and I (Edmundo Ayala) will be driving and filming RC cars on January 4, 2020 at Love's Lookout, located in Jacksonville, Texas. Start Time 10:30AM Love's Lookout 43822 US-69 Jacksonville, TX 75766 (903) 586-4868 Love's Lookout Web Site: http://www.jacksonvilletexas.com/ The courses will be set based on the rc vehicles in attendance. So whatever the majority of the group has to drive, that is what we will run. No one will be turned away, and every RC will have a chance on course. Consider this your formal invite to stop by, drive your RC car and meet other hobbyists. This is not a competition or full blown event. This a get together with focus on driving and visiting. I hope to see you there and possibly get your RC car on camera. Activated Outlaw Comp Crawlers is free to participate, open to all ages, and this months overall low score driver will receive a Free Cell Block RC Crawler Stand. ![]() Score Sheet that will be used: ![]() ![]() YouTube video link of the December Get Together, Course 2; (Competition Limited Class) at the Goodman-Legrand Park; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iWUgz63ndA #crawlerinnovations #ayalametalworks #activatedoutlaw #rccrawler Last edited by Nova's Ark; 12-28-2019 at 07:59 AM.
