I run most of my crawlers at 13" wb or real close to that. I like to do big climbs and the longer wb is needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
what other bodies have you guys been running? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...314d377319.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...473b4735b1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...aa7c70f9ce.jpg I'm not sure what chassis you have . But I tried this proline 72 body on my Ascender . It works for me , very little trimming . Mainly around the wheels . I still want to lower the shocks but just haven't made time to do so . How did you shorten the to 12.5" and do the tires rub? I would like to get one of those bodies. Thanks. |

You most likely could run it at the stock wb with this body but I cut the fenders to work with a 13" wb which I prefer to run. The body I mocked up is from one of my other trucks. Next time I strip the trx down I'll get some pics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just replace the stock rod ends with these and it will shorten your wheel base to where you need it. (They are just a little shorter than the stock ones". If you wanted to go to 12.3 you would do the same on the front also. If you wanted to stretch the wheel base you would use the Jato rod ends. I have my truck set up for 2/3 droop so when fully compressed they rub a little, but nothing that would hamper performance."thumbsup Hope that helps you out.;-);-) Ernie |
Re: what other bodies have you guys been running? The Axial XJ body is a great fit for the longer wheelbase TRX. In fact, I had to add Jato rod ends to the front of my 10.2 and extend the rear links a bit to correct the short wheelbase to fit the XJ body as many found out when they bought the 10.2 kit. For some reason the XJ body was designed for 12.5-12.8 inch wheelbase and they kept the 10.2 at 12.3 Axial confuses the hell out of me sometimes. |

Re: what other bodies have you guys been running? Im trying the proline toyota sr5 hilux body.. comes in two pieces leaving many options for a cage or full pickup build. Cant stand the stock body I refuse to even install it.. |

Re: what other bodies have you guys been running? you could always attach the inners to the chassis instead of the body. was actually fairly straight forward |

Re: what other bodies have you guys been running? How did and how much did you shorten the wheel base[/QUOTE] Didn't touch the front suspension, only changed to similar length VP links and standard Traxxas rod ends. Shortened the rear links to 105mm VP links with standard rod ends (made top links longer for better pinion angle) https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4265/...738dde49_z.jpg Moved the rear shock towers forward. Luckily it matched up with existing holes in the chassis"thumbsup" https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4279/...9f0dd0ac_z.jpg Had to remove the battery tray as it no longer fit and made one out of aluminum stock that fits a shorty pack perfectly and is lower than the stock battery position. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4063/...2ae1de3e_z.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4150/...4b046e3a_z.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4071/...749ced30_z.jpg |
Re: what other bodies have you guys been running? battery tray no longer fit? curious, as i shrunk my rig a few mm's smaller than yours and had zero issues with the battery tray being there. (shock mounts on shortest factory option, and 102mm revo rods/rod ends) |
Re: what other bodies have you guys been running? 1 Attachment(s) Maybe that's what that extra piece in the parts bag is for ,,,,"thumbsup" |
