Re: what other bodies have you guys been running?

Im running the Proline 4runner im at work so no pics at the moment here is how i shortened the wb: I made 2 sets of front Lower links first set was 3/32" brass rod (which gained no weight) then I made a set out of 1/4" brass rod ( which doubled the link weight) Installed the 1/4" on the front lower. I then used the stock front lowers on the rear and the 3/32 brass on the rear upper. The uppers and lowers on the rear are the same size. but that will put you dead nuts on 12.3" i also moved the rear shock towers fwd and used the plastic piece included in the bag to keep stock mounting holes"thumbsup"

Does anyone know who bought the new bright trailcat and started the post about running the on their trx? Pretty sure it didn't work out but the frustrating thing is I was looking at the thread last night and cannot find it after looking and searching. Thanks

I am a Ford guy, so when I saw this body, I had to give it a shot. Proline 66 F100 for the T Maxx. I think it turned out alright. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8db6ddc5a3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c7d71c4060.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8281a6ced5.jpg

Started off with the full Hilux body and now ended up with the axial bed cage. This is my first go around so it’s still a work in progress. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c774882c13.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c2035f218b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...50c787167.heic

Looks great! Try swapping the front and rear bumper supports, keep them flipped. this will raise the front bumper/ lower the rear. This will allow you to drop the rear bed cage. Then space up your sliders. I used 2 revo ball ends stacked, and longer screws...

Thanks. I removed the piece that locks the battery in last night because that was holding the cage up really high like in these pics. I'll swap the bumper supports around now too.

Used the 100mm front links top and bottom in rear. Had to thread 1 end of each 5 mm more then cut them to 95 mm overall length. This gives 295 mm wheelbase

Got any pics since you lowered the body some more?

So I ended up swapping and flipping the bumper mounts. Made a huge difference in clearance also. But gave the rear section of the cage more room to come down. Also ditched the battery latch for velcro straps to allow the body to sit level. Removed some of the x bracing on the underside of the cage also. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...042c1681b.heic

I think the Slash body looks pretty good actually. Not the scale look most go for, but definitely functional, albeit a bit longer than most.

hmm. seeing the slash body on it makes me wonder how the trx-4 would look wrapped in a yeti cage setup. i just got done putting one on my slash the other day..

Do you have some detailed pictures of where you trimmed and how you mounted the body, specifically in the rear? I just got an F100 cab and honcho cage/bed, and it's a paint in the butt to get fitted correctly.

Also, what sliders are your running?

Axial JK Wrangler body with standard TRX4 wheelbase. Fits perfectly :) Just had to trim the inner fenders to fit the tapered profile of the Jeep body. The body is held to the chassis with rare earth ring magnets and Shoegoo.

Did you have to cut holes in the bed to get it to sit that low.

Holes did need to be cut into the bed but the shock mounts didn't go higher than the tool box molded into the body. I screwed up my body position initially otherwise there would be minimal intrusion.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d52e1d8d00.jpg

Just replace the stock rod ends with these and it will shorten your wheel base to where you need it. (They are just a little shorter than the stock ones". If you wanted to go to 12.3 you would do the same on the front also. If you wanted to stretch the wheel base you would use the Jato rod ends.

Hope that helps you out.;-);-)

I tried this and found it to be not true. My trx4 started life as a tactical unit so I'm not sure if my rod ends are different for some crazy reason.

But although at first glance the revos appear to be shorter the dimensions from "bottomed out thread" to center of the ball is nearly identical.
