So Kodiak body didn't happen going with some other choices that looks less out of place. Thinking first jeep jk unlimited Rubicon or RAM 1500.

Any updates to this thread? Always interested in seeing new ideas. Looking into getting a pre roller or a good deal on a bronco or kit for the wife. She's not into the bronco or defender tho.

Put on a Proline Jeep Rubicon body for the 12.8 wb. I have a Bronco, so I ordered a short to long conversion kit from Traxxas.

Here's how it currently looks with the 12.3 wb.

I love this - looks awesome!

I was hoping to do the same Axial Honcho + Kit - but I heard the inner fenders were part of the shock/body mount on the kit.

Did you have to cut the kit's fenders right back or did you get some new shock towers like the Defender/Tactical?

I bought these shock towers on eBay. They are Treal and were cheap. I just recently replaced them with the Samix shock towers front and rear. The Samix have a stronger panhard mount and look better. I don't have a picture of them installed yet.

I had a set of Hot Racing shock mounts and they worked for awhile. No bashing just riprap crawling and one day the panhard mount just broke off. Most people don't realize how much stress the panhard mount is under.

Thanks for this. My son has a Sport and the Proline body inbound, and was debating on ordering the chassis kit or wait and see. Your pic shows it’s needed (imo).

Thanks for the reply. The Samix gear looks good.

I found some reasonably prices stock Traxxas shock mounts online. I might try them out and upgrade to Samix later on.

I wasn't aware of the stress on the panhard mount - good to know! Hopefully the stock one will be fine for now.
