right then.. rear inner fenders sorted these were screwed straight to the frame with a couple aluminum spacers. amazingly solid, and now i'm pretty much set for any 300mm body without sacrificing dirt and mud getting kicked up into the interior. very happy strong enough to pick up the truck without warping too much. i'd call it a success next thing to work out were the rock sliders. after moving the axle forward, the rear tire was a lot closer than i would like. i had planned on cutting it down, but after looking at it, i realized they could simply be swapped left-for-right and it totally fixed it. even lines up with the cherokee fenders with the body on. awesome and that's pretty much it for the chassis. from here it's just a few accessories and bodywork. |

Yeah, I watched that again more closely, it does appear that the drag link angle was changed.

Left my battery tray alone. Mamba X so no bec used and I'm using a mini 3s. Castle sensored 2850 w savox wp servo. Shortened wb but waiting on body still. 66 c10 ordered. Not much in the way of mods but it's something. And the traxxas link on the tx to app is a nice touch. Drilled the 1.55s to 5mm. After getting it all adjusted it's a nice feeling driving truck. |

built myself some rear quarter armor today. first time forming/brazing brass, and it was a lot easier than i expected. shot a few coats of rustoleum truck bed liner on them (and the rockers) and got them bolted up. overall, i'm pretty stoked with how they came out. at the rate thing's are going, i'll have an awesome little mini-me for my 1:1 cherokee in no time |

Great thread and great discussion so far. I just posted a guide in this section to organize a bunch of info (specs, feedback, mods, etc.). I'll be keeping an eye out here to see what folks are coming up with. The guide will very much be a work in progress as we're all learning, so please chime in with feedback. |

If anyone is wondering how the red diff. covers look here are a few pics... ...and here is the part number... I also got the red d-rings but thought there would be too much red on the truck so left the grey ones on, for now at least. Last edited by CR4NK; 06-22-2017 at 03:27 PM. |

Got tired of bashing the front bumper into rocks. I do more rock testing than trails so I like the narrow bumper to get the tire on a rock. Cut the stock bumper outside the internally molded rib which acts as a cap. I do want to add in a new bar now that I see it cut. I am keeping the fake winch to use it as a shell to run the servo winch through eventually. |

Cool mod, I like the look of the narrow bumper. Besides, a replacement bumper is only 8 bucks.

I added a brand new protek 370hv servo along with castle bec and now have no steering at all. Haven't bought the traxxas link yet. Can someone help me out in getting my steering back. Went through the programming tree with no luck! Thanks Fernando |

Try a different servo to eliminate that one. And make triple sure you're connections for the bec are contacting and wired correctly.

For anyone looking for an aluminum servo horn, this Protek one is nearly the exact size and shape of the stock plastic horn. Other aluminum servo horns can change the factory steering geometry but the Protek keeps the geometry nearly unchanged. |

The geometry on all the others is backward. So I had to space my JR servo up and use a robitronics. Its 20mm and 24mm but the 24mm works when you set the EPAs. Hoping Protek jumps on these for the other servos, but since their servos are 25T looks like its a hope and pray moment.

Anyone have an idea if would it make sense to replace the stock motor with the 550 21T Trailmaster Sport from HH? Especially regarding power (torque) and smoothness. Or would it be more or less the same? |

Now a Torquemaster or Crawlmaster 550 would be a significant upgrade.

First mod, smaller black body clips from an Axial Yeti, they fit better/dont rattle and dont stick out as much as the chrome Magnets to hold on to the body clips Theres a nice spot to hide a magnet under the top of the roof rack, not visible when assembled Custom front bumper with winch mount. theres plenty of weight up front now, made from 1/8" thick steel Custom rear bumper, this seems to be about the most clearance you can get without cutting the body. Its a bit thin but it is braced on the back side I was able to retain the 2 locating holes that the back of the body uses, I had to trim the plastic post a bit so they dont stick out I simplified the rear gate, I removed the spare tire and cut its mount as well as the gas tank mount free and bolted the tanks in front of the hole left after I cut off the spare tire mount.
