Default TRX4 Mods

Just a thought. I'm sure we're gonna need a TRX4 Mods thread. Lets do everything except Tires & Wheels.

I have already installed a Holmes Trailmaster Pro WP, A Holmes BLE Pro WP,
a Castle BEC 2.0 WP and a Savox 1210SG WP.

I had these as spares for my Wraith so TRX4 get 'em.

Just swapped the servo. The 2290 wiring was slightly shorter than the stock traxxas servos wiring but it worked out. Upon testing my steering was reversed so I'll provide a link showing how to reverse it back to normal if this happens to anyone else. Also, the holes in the mounting point don't match up perfectly either. I recommend starting the two screws on the passenger (right) side of the truck first and then the two on the driver side. Tighten down the two on the driver side first then finish off tightening down the other two. You'll see what I mean.

Chipgibbs - Doesn't the motor need to run in reverse? how did you reverse the run of the motor?

I had to snip the connecting ends on my Savox, on the passenger side to get the screws to fit, ur process is spot on.

Thanks! The savox 2290 is a billet or metal housing so there was no snipping happening there, but it worked out. It's on there nice and snug and will not move.

Regarding the "reversing", it was my steering. When I would turn right on the tx the wheels would turn left and vice versa. The link I provided works to fix that.

I reversed the Trail Master Pro rotation using a Castle link with the BLE Pro ESC. You can change the motor rotation in the settings. You can do this with all the Castle Creations derivative ESCs.

Not that I plan on keeping the stock servo very long but is it safe to assume the 2075X is still a 25 spline?

Correct, Futaba 25T is still the standard for Traxxas. They do say it needs to be 22mm from servo mount to the screw attachment in the manual.

New Mod: Picked up the Traxxas Link today & installed it in the transmitter. Nice to be able to set end points, motor rotation, servo reversing etc. I'd like to see someone develop an app to add in the aftermarket components installed (instead of only traxxas components).
Don't know how much I'll use it after setting up the model but, it wasn't expensive.

I ordered the Traxxas link also. For $27 shipped, it's a handy little attachment. I had one on my Summit remote and it was great for adjusting different settings.

$20 shipped? Do you possibly have a link? I'd like to order one too. Thank you!

Was thinking the same thing. $20 is good. Does it require traxxas esc? Doubtful but I've never messed with the new traxxas link stuff. Those remotes have way too much to adjust without having a digital display.

With the Traxxas link, your phone is the digital display. With it, you can see what you're adjusting.
The more traxxas stuff that's connected to the receiver, the more info can be read on the phone. Additional sensors can be added.

It's a nice addition indeed, especially for $20 shipped, assuming you can actually find them for that. I'm a bit of a skeptic. There was a guy in another thread that said he can get the trx4 for $336.

I apologize, I misspoke. I got mine for $27 shipped off eBay.

Could you take a pic from the side? I'd like to see how big the 2.2 wheels look.
