My TRX4 has been underwater a lot. Opened up the diffs after a couple of hours in water and everything looked fine. I slathered loads of grease in there first but I can't see it being an issue with periodic reapplication of grease and say new bearings every 3-6 months. I personally found some (but far from many) bearings tended to get gritty after this time. The easiest method by far was to pull the axles out of the truck and use a cordless screwdriver. Probably takes an hour for both housings.

I have yet to do the gearbox though...no idea there.

I'm surprised you didn't mention temperatures...

Take a soldering iron and place it on the stud holding the spare tire on. This will melt the locktite and you can remove the wheel nut easier

New bearings every 6 months?? I've only replaced the bearings in my Wraith once in 3 years of ownership.

I have to take some slack out of both f/r cables for the locking diffs I think. Hope its not too hard

When it operates now it will 90% of the time mechanically engage in the differential itself, but 50% of those times I hear a buzzing or repeating sound from the servo as if its throw hasn't been completed, and I'm hearing in both micro servos sometimes.

It's the cable right?

I can still drive it I just need to listen carefully and make sure the servo is happy before I start.

Does giving it a bit of throttle help?

If not it may be the cables, have a look at my post in this thread
I found a way to adjust cable length, and went over what I think is the ideal servo throw in a video in post #50

Get the Blue Bird 373MG servo from HobbyKing. I have three of them in my Summit and they work great. You have to tell the controller to rotate the servos in the opposite direction from stock, but that's not a big deal, you can do it via the controller programming menu.
