Default TRX-4 In Maine (Pic Heavy)

I haven't done a build thread really, so I figured I'd give it a go.
I got my TRX-4 Yesterday June 26.
Before I plugged a battery in I removed the servo, motor, ESC, and wheels / tires.
Replaced with
Servo: Holmes Hobbies HV400
ESC: Castle MMP
Motor: Toro 2500kv 550 can Pro4
(For now)
Wheels: Axial 2.2 beadlocks
Tires: 1.9 Pitbull Rockbeasts

I did some comparison photos between the SCX10 II and the TRX-4
The TRX is quite a bit larger, and heavier.
The Body (stock with tire and scale bits) is 1lb 14oz. Nearly 2 lbs!
The chassis is 6lb 4.9oz with weighted wheels 4oz in each
TOTAL weight is 8lbs 2.9 oz!!

The SCX10 II
Body 1lb 1.1oz with scale bits and lights..
Chassis 5lbs 3.3oz with interior weighted wheels 4oz in each
TOTAL weight 6lbs 4.4oz

The top photo shows a SCX10(13.25 WB) TRX(12. and SCX10 II(12.3) all pressed against the wall. The TRX is very long!!

Not sure what mods I want to do yet, as I haven't taken it to the rocks yet.
I'm still unsure if I'm keeping the body. I am considering getting a lighter lexan body to lose that top heavy COG. I really do like the Defender body though... Decisions.

Made a electronics box for the TRX-4. Nothing too fancy. Don't mind the huge mess. Still in progress.

I saw a design online and made a 3d printed model of my own rather than buy one.
Nothing against the online vendor. I have a 3d printer, why not use it?

Fits great, I have yet to pull anything. The truck has been on the bench all week. Been busy.

Oh I don't think there's a Vendor on here that's selling one yet and you haven't tried to sell one to me so ,Letts talk about how strong do you think it will be ,I've heard that some 3D stuff just don't hold up ,,What's your thought .. By the way It looks good for a Bobbin
spool on main shaft style servo winch but my style would have the line routed very high on the front ..

Yes this is designed for a bobbin style winch. I don't have a winch that has a case cutout like the ones you offer. I could certainly alter the servo winch mount to suit.

I intend on doing some strength tests. The plastic is just simple PLA. If I were to offer them to the public I would probably print in Nylon.

I have lots of Ideas about making a winch mount but maybe the easiest is using the holes it the bumper ,,, [on the square parts],,, to attach my servo winch to rig ,,Gotta put my stock bumper back on thou .

Finished the servo winch. Stole one of my 6ch Rx from the scx 10.2. have 2 on order but I'm impatient.
Got all the channels working with correct endpoints etc..
Needed a 6ch for the servo winch and a BEC. Works great.

Switched out the bumper for durability / clearance / winch line placement. Not my favorite bumper, but it'll do..
Also got the light bar wired in. Next project is bucket LEDs. The body has 12 slots for LEDs. Odd sizing though. Not 5mm and not 3mm. So some finesse and shoe glue I think.

If anyone wants the transmitter settings for a flysky gt3b let me know. It's a bit complicated.
I may even do a write-up of video later, if there's demand.

Looking good Robert, but breezing through the pics once again I noticed the "Rok Dawgz" is spelled differently on your rx box!

Made a low cog battery mount. No loss of clearance or flex.
