2 left skids

Anyone else notice the left and right side skids are different distances from the front wheels or is it just mine?

Mine are correct... the body would not fit on correctly otherwise.

they are on all of them. i shortened my wheelbase by an inch, and flipped sides on the sliders to even them back out again.

Re: 2 left skids

maybe i misread that.. the longer mount-to-end bit should be at the rear in stock form. you're saying yours aren't?

Re: 2 left skids

The rock sliders have a groove that the body fits into close to the edge, this fits in right between the front and rear wheel arches. With the body mounted and in the slots like it is designed, my rock sliders are positioned exactly in the middle of the space between the wheel arches on both sides.

The sliders have short side forward and long side back, if you have both of them the same side you have an assembly error, call Traxxas and they will correct this error for you. They are very helpful, they even replaced my spare tire mount because of the stupid mount bolt stripping out and requiring surgery to extract... they really should have used a bolt with a hex phillip or flat head cut into it, that plastic is way too soft to hold against a lock tighted lock nut.

There is only about 5mm in the difference, I have pics but I can't be arsed with the photoshop ordeal,is there an alternate page where I can just show the pics off my phone?
Measure from the rear whee hubl to the rock slider edge and tell me there isn't a 3-5mm difference.

Thanks clair,I'll get onto them but I don't think Ireland is their main priority, I'm fine with it,I just wanted to know was there an actual rhd skid. Out of curiosity what are the lhs+rhs skid part no?

Picture is worth a 1000 words, if your skids are not oriented like this, long to rear short to front on each side, call Traxxas.

Re: 2 left skids

Ooh Ireland, Well. Hmm. Easy thing to do would be to trim the skids so that they were both the same short length in front and don't worry about the rears. As long as they fit all is good.

Re: 2 left skids

Yeah, I've 2 "long rear and short fronts -both fit perfectly on the same side.

Re: 2 left skids

Hmm, well contact Traxxas on the off chance they will fix it, but yeah you can trim them down easy enough to keep you going. :)

Ah no there would a big gap from the skid to the rear fender and ruin the evenness of it lol.ill eBay a rhd skid no harm done

Not if you trimmed the long side on both sides! The rock slide would just be moved forward a bit but you wouldn't tell if you didn't know what you were looking for :)

Re: 2 left skids

I only noticed when I dropped the bodymounts 1 and noticed how the body had to spread out to meet the side slider when viewed from underneath. I moved them in on the slider and the right one was hitting the front arch extension. The body to frame/inner fender fit was much tighter a clip too.
