Default Truck Bed Body Mod

I jumped on the Truck Bed Mod but may keep the cage intact, just not sure about the adding the roof rack back and just use the bed to help LCG

Second the notion. From pictures this looks like how it came out of the box!

That may very well be the cleanest conversion yet. Please tell us you have a step-by-step install of this process!

Love this mod. I am sorely tempted but am not sure how I could finish the bed. You could even remove the inner fenders and brace and sink the ute bed down a bit for tools and an esky or even some militia blokes with AK-47's lol!

Default Truck Bed Body Mod

Very nicely done DJMC! I'm pretty confident I'd be able to do this mod to my trx-4. What I'm not confident in is getting the cuts to the body as straight and clean as this was done. Strictly speaking for myself lol

...and this...

Just use blue painters tape as a guide and a new thin cut dremel disc. You will be surprised how easy it is.

Agreed! I'm seriously thinking of making this change to my rig. Makes it look less boxy, plus gives me bed space for accessories.

Classic! I just did it too. Posted a pic in the picture thread as well. I used an aluminum "beware of dog" sign as my bed cover. I cut it, bent it and reamed the holes accordingly.

Thanks for the inspiration DJMC!

For the guys not using clips for the rear body mounts (flat rear beds), how are you keeping the body down?

I think I'm going to do a 2 window ute/pickup mod, with a half cage, lower side cage bars, black slightly sunken or flat bed (using aluminium sheet) and raised cage sides from the roof rack for the 'sides' of the bed (basically a hybrid of a few guy's designs which are all really awesome by the way). I'm going to try to use clips where possible.

I only used the front clips, and the rear portion of the body seems to stay put nicely due to the pins that stick into the rear bumper. The whole upper body seems to want to stay put but if and when it wants to start walkin', I'll rectify the issue accordingly.

CoolRunning I used the extra body mount that came with the truck, then used scx10 body posts they fit just right in the square holes, then the cut off roof I reused it for the bed cover, drilled two new holes, done deal., clips in the front an clips in the back all good an solid.

It's been in the back of my mind since I finished the bed mod so I decided to add some proline threaded rear body posts very similar to these...They seem to work well.
