Unhappy Help! ESC problem

Hi guys, I need again your help.

Today I had to return home with the rig in my arms

It will be a bit difficult to explain it in English but I will try it anyway. I hope you can understand the message and can help me to solve the problem:

Some days ago, since the Savox 1210SG servo has too much steering degrees I decieded to decrease it from the transmiter following the instructions from the link that some of you put in another thread (https://traxxas.com/sites/default/fi...-OM-EN-R02.pdf in order to avoid forcing the steering parts of the axes . It ran perfectly since today.

Now comes the difficult part... I would explain it more or less like this: now the servo is always turned to the right, not fully turned but some more degrees that the ones that I could solve with steering trim. The strange thing is that I have the full steering way to the right but only a bit to the left. I canīt even straighten the wheels turning the steering wheel completly to the left!

It is like by it self, the ESC configured a new left endpoint and I canīt reset it.

I tried with the stock one to discard that was a servo problem.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I think the best solution is restore the factory settings and then back decrease the dual rate of the servo.

I just installed a new steering servo a week ago or so.

When you first turn your esc on with the servo installed does it do a quick left/right or try to center? Mine does everytime, I think even with the stock servo.

Anyway, install your servo without the horn or linkage installed. Turn on everything and then install the horn onto the servo and it should be close to the correct position. Of course your putting the horn on pointed straight ahead or whatever position makes your linkage point the front tires straight. That's what I did not sure if its correct but it worked and got me close enough to just use alittle trim and set my end points after that to make it perfect.

Also make sure your trim is zero'd out before you do this and play jazz.

The problem is that now the servo has almost nothing of travel to the left side. I would have the same problem even if I put the horn centered, since it seems that by it self, the esc configured the left end point to close to the center... A very strange thing that I canīt understand.

I canīt also reset the servo settings.

Mysteriously the issue has been solved by it self...

Hope this wonīt happen again but I am not very confident about it.

Maybe I should buy the Hobbywing 1080 to have it at home as a spare ESC.

the stock esc only deliver 1A over the internal esc, the 1210sg needs more.
If you keep it i would recommand an bec to power the servo.
can't understand traxxas in this point 4 servos and esc internal bec only 1A.

I forgot to say that the servo is powered at 7,4V directly to the battery

Have you gone in and reset your end points?

Not the dual rates but the actual end points in the radio?

If so and you've pulled the horn and confirmed:

a) the horn is not stripped
b) the servo is actually centred and end points reset before you install the horn

Then something has happened and the servo centre point has shifted.

Basically you should be able to work out roughly where the centre is with the servo in your hand as you'll see where its throw stops on both sides and you can set the horn by eye in the middle. If once powered it jumps to a funny position then something is amiss.

Just in case of a simple error, the servo horn needs to be on the left side of the truck looking from the rear to the front.

This is how I fix things too sometimes

You take them apart, put them back together and suddenly it works.
