Default My T-REX life of a german Landrover

After seeing the delivery dates changing here in germany from June to July to September to...... i finally found a vendor who had a few so i pulled the trigger it's a grey one.

First Mod XT60 connectors

After the first pack first upgrade the stock servo is way toooooo weak

The boomracing servo horn fit's perfect same length as Stock and the 20kg powerhd turns the tires great.

The next upgrades will come on the short list:
new wheels and foams (not sure if 1.9 or 2.2)

more weight down: portal covers, knuckle weights ( saw a intressting option in a thread here but can't find it anymore - they where from spain)
Winch, Lights, paint .......

Enjoyed the first drives now starts the fun part upgrades, find a setup and change look. but not quit sure which direction i will go (safari style with zebra look, dakar style, 5th avenue style or a mix of it).

Should the hitch for the rear bumper be incl.? missing this.
and for which propose is this (black plastic part) meant?

Also no clue how i can take of the spare tire, but was able to dismount the hole unit from the buddy. i'm turning the f..... nut like it is 1m long but only gain 2mm. only way seams to destroy the mount ......

The way I was able to get it off was to drill out the head of the bolt from the back side, a drill press will be best suited for this.

I have feared that this will be the only solution.

Beef tips for the scx10 fit the shocks. So first weight upgrade on the front.

Parts are coming in.
Yeah racing Brass Portal Covers for the Front

Also Ernies front weights arrived.

Mounted them on the Front and with a little sanding they fit together nicely.

Also checked Portals and diffs.
Portals where a Dessert regarding grease. Diffs are a little better but as I'm on it.

Started to install lights. Using GRC LED brackets and a GT Power 12 LED lightning kit. If you want to use this, you will need additional 3mm white for the front and it's not 1:1 but will do it for now.

For the start i took inner fender off to have a free work area mounting the lights as i dismount the rear lights sadly they where over tided and the body has small damage.

Mounted the GRC Rear Light bracket, fits nicely. you have to take the rear zip holder off before you take out the rear light and to put them back on the body.

Front GRC braket fits also nice, but be carefully loosen the screws on the front lights, striped one, they where like clued in.

Next is to wait till the 3mm white arrive (hopefully today) and waterproofing the electronics to finish the driving lights.but more on the list

So 3mm White for the Front light came in. So finished light Installation. The Front inner fenders needed some cutting to fit with the grc brackets.

Light Controller waterproofed with Seal Spray and mounted to the rear inner fender.

Next parts are on their way .

After installing the lights, brass portal covers and ernie's weights
i found some time to walk around my area.

Climbing uphill it's a incredible improvement thx ernie

The first touch with water

Tried also first time 3s i like the speed and better crawling compared to 2s with stock gearing. Mentioned more power on 3s even in low speed. Love this truck like my little monster (Yeti) . Drove the same trail with it and it managed all tracks like the Trex but on a different way. Yeti less crawl skill but power trex more skill less power needed. so i think a nice sensored power system would be nice for the trex, put it on the mid term list (Which would be the equivalent in kv 540 4-pole to the stock 550 21t) Run time was over all approx 90min with 2s 2700 mAh and 54min with 3s 1800 mAh.

So far i like the servo (PowerHD 20kg) cheap waterproof, i also use it in my little betty (AX10), enough power, good touch and speed. i think i got it less than 20$ from Hongkong. Several places have it.

Trex also survived a huge fall down the hill

Back home, and new parts have arrived.

Installed the dc portal/knuckle weights in the rear, perfect fit, ordered them before the SSD came out.

More on the way Hopefully tomorrow some drive time to test the rear weights.

Got some drive time and the rear weights improve balance and sidehilling. Still rolling down the hill if it's too steep. But at this state only a wider wheel width will improve sidehilling i think if staying with the stock body.

But found first real issue, cause of the tide tollerance on the front trans output. It's grinding in the plastic and the middle spline is bind. So Same what is said in the drive shaft thread.
Grinded a little and greased it so it moves more freely. Takes new Drive shafts to the list.

TRex got some magic style

after testing it on the croatia rock coast, i decided to skip the stock tires. will order some hyrax 1.9 or voodoo klr. stock tires have a lack of traction.

Saddly vacation is over tommorow i will heading home. But before i had some test time on the rocks at the Beach.
I gained a big improvment in uphill and sidehill driving with the change of the rear springs, i changed stock with the silver progressive springs out of the hot racing hd rally tune spring Set for the savage xs (ssxs68mr14.

also installed the gpm 9mm wheel hex which gives 8mm more track width.
